The Launch Barn is a project in development in Cornwall, run by a small founding team. This page explains what information we collect through this website and our surveys, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
For this information, the data controller is The Launch Barn founding team. You can contact us at hello@thelaunchbarn.co.uk.
What we collect
- Survey answers. Your answers about your business, the space, equipment and training you need, and how you'd use them. Your business name is optional.
- Your email address, only if you choose to give it so we can keep you updated.
- Emails you send us, and the details you include in them.
This website doesn't use cookies or tracking. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site.
Why we use it
- To understand what local businesses, makers and startups need, so we can plan the workshop around it.
- To build the case for funding. When we share findings with funders, councils or partners, we share totals and themes, not your individual answers or contact details.
- To send you updates, only if you asked for them.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in planning the project, and your consent for updates by email.
Where it's kept
Survey responses are collected and stored with Google Forms and Google Sheets, and emails are handled through Gmail. Only the founding team can see them. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep survey responses for as long as we're planning the project, and no more than two years after you submit them. If you ask for updates, we keep your email until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can stop updates at any time. Just email hello@thelaunchbarn.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
